Sonia Gandhi’s Emotional Address in Rae Bareli: ‘Rahul is Now Yours’

Rae Bareli | Uttar Pradesh : In a heartfelt speech at Rae Bareli, CPP Chairperson Smt Sonia Gandhi reconnected with the people. She expressed her deep gratitude and strong bond with them.
“Family members of Rae Bareli, I am happy that after a long time, I have the opportunity to be among you. I am truly grateful to all of you. I bow my head before you in reverence,” Sonia Gandhi began, acknowledging the special relationship she shares with the region.
Talking about her 20-year service as their representative in Parliament, she said, “For 20 years, you have given me the opportunity to serve as your representative in Parliament. This is the greatest treasure of my life. Rae Bareli is my family, just as Amethi is my home.”
Sonia Gandhi also spoke about her family’s long connection with Rae Bareli. “Not only are my life’s fond memories connected to this place, but for the past 100 years, the roots of our family have been intertwined with this soil. Rae Bareli held a special place in Indira Ji’s heart. I have closely seen her working here. She had a deep affection for you all.”
She emphasized the values she learned from Indira Gandhi and the people of Rae Bareli, which she has passed on to her children. “I have taught Rahul and Priyanka the same values that Indira Ji and the people of Rae Bareli taught me. Respect everyone, protect the weak and fight against injustice for the rights of the people, no matter whom you have to face. Do not be afraid, for your roots and traditions of struggle are very strong.”
Sonia Gandhi thanked the people for their constant support and love. “My life has always been filled with your blessings and love. Your affection has never let me feel alone. Everything I have is given by you.”
She concluded by entrusting her son Rahul Gandhi to the people of Rae Bareli. “Brothers and sisters, I am entrusting my son to you. Just as you accepted me as your own, you must accept Rahul as your own and take care of him.”
Sonia Gandhi’s speech was warmly received, highlighting the deep bond between the Gandhi family and the people of Rae Bareli.
