Congress President Kharge Accuses Ruling Party of Unfair Play in Elections Amidst Electoral Bond Controversy

While addressing the press conference, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge leveled serious allegations against the ruling party, citing unfair electoral practices and a biased financial landscape. Kharge emphasized the Supreme Court’s verdict, labeling electoral bonds as both illegal and unconstitutional and lambasted the present government for allegedly amassing substantial funds through this contentious scheme.

“In the shadow of electoral bond controversies, the ruling party has allegedly flooded its coffers with exorbitant amounts, totaling in thousands of crores,” Kharge asserted. He further pointed out a stark contrast by highlighting a purported conspiracy targeting the main opposition party, wherein their bank accounts were reportedly frozen, leaving them devoid of necessary funds for election campaigns.

Kharge expressed concerns over the apparent lack of a level-playing field in electoral contests, attributing it to the stark disparities in financial resources between the ruling party and the opposition. He stressed the importance of fair electoral practices and urged for immediate action to rectify the situation, ensuring equitable opportunities for all political entities participating in the democratic process.

“Sonia Gandhi Condemns Financial Assault on Indian National Congress: Calls for Upholding Democracy”

In a compelling statement delivered at an AICC Press Conference, CPP Chairperson Smt Sonia Gandhi, has raised grave concerns over what she terms as a deliberate attempt by the Prime Minister to financially cripple the Congress party. Emphasizing the severity of the issue, Sonia Gandhi stressed that it not only affects the Congress but strikes at the very heart of India’s democratic fabric.

Sonia Gandhi revealed that the Congress party’s financial resources are under siege, with funds collected from the public being frozen and money forcibly withdrawn from their accounts. Despite facing such adversities, she asserted the party’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of its election campaigns.

Central to Gandhi’s address was the issue of Electoral Bonds, which she criticized as unconstitutional, a stance supported by a recent Supreme Court ruling. She pointed out that these bonds have disproportionately benefited the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), exacerbating the financial challenges faced by the opposition, particularly the Indian National Congress.

“This is truly unprecedented,” Sonia Gandhi declared, highlighting the gravity of the situation. The systematic assault on the finances of the principal opposition party, she argued, poses a significant threat not just to the Congress but to the very essence of democracy in India.

Gandhi’s remarks come at a critical juncture in Indian politics, with concerns mounting over the erosion of democratic principles and the growing imbalance in electoral funding. As the nation gears up for crucial elections, her call for upholding democratic values and ensuring a level playing field resonates widely across the political spectrum.

Rahul Gandhi Accuses Government of Freezing Congress Party’s Bank Accounts, Calls it an Attack on Indian Democracy

In a scathing address to the media, Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, raised serious concerns over the freezing of the party’s bank accounts, labeling it as a direct assault on Indian democracy. He highlighted the dire consequences of such actions, equating it to starving a family or crippling a business.

Rahul Gandhi lamented the inability of the Congress party to conduct campaign activities, support its workers, or aid its candidates due to the frozen bank accounts. He pointed out the timing of this move, just two months before the upcoming election campaign, as particularly damaging.

Drawing attention to the reasons cited for the freezing of the accounts – notices dating back to the ’90s and several years ago, with a relatively small amount in question – Rahul questioned the disproportionate punishment faced by the party.

Expressing dismay at the silence of key institutions tasked with safeguarding democracy, such as the courts and the Election Commission, Rahul criticized the lack of response to what he termed a “criminal action” by the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.

Rahul Gandhi emphasized that the inability of the Congress party, representing a significant portion of Indian voters, to carry out even basic financial transactions underscores a larger crisis in Indian democracy. He urged for immediate action to rectify the situation and protect the democratic principles upon which India prides itself.

In conclusion, Rahul underscored that the freezing of the Congress party’s bank accounts goes beyond mere financial constraints; it strikes at the heart of Indian democracy itself, rendering the largest opposition party powerless to uphold its democratic responsibilities.
