Priyanka Gandhi Promises Monthly Support and Dignity for Women in Bihar

Patna | Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed the ‘Mahila Samvad’ at Sadakat Ashram in Patna, where she interacted with women from ASHA, Anganwadi, farmers, labourers and other professions. She listened to their problems and assured them of solutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Priyanka Gandhi highlighted the guarantees of the Grand Alliance for Bihar. She said women will receive Rs. 2,500 every month, families will get free medical treatment up to Rs. 25 lakh, and landless families will be given 3 to 5 dismil land, with ownership rights in the name of women.

Priyanka Gandhi said, “You must see which party is giving you respect. Respect does not mean giving money just before elections. Real respect is when women receive a proper honorarium every month, when the government helps them to stand on their own feet, and when daughters go to study and feel safe.”

Targeting the BJP and JDU government, she said that women in Bihar are often suppressed when they raise their voices. “My brother Rahul Gandhi has struggled across the country for social justice. He wants women to also get justice and respect. If you want this justice and respect, then you must defeat the BJP-JDU government in the coming elections.”

She also questioned the ruling government’s sudden announcement of financial assistance before elections. “Elections are near, so women are being promised Rs. 10,000 per month. But what were these people doing for the last 20 years? Why didn’t they provide women their rightful honorarium earlier? This is only an attempt to buy votes. But women are wise and responsible, and they will show their strength in the elections,” Priyanka Gandhi said.

Priyanka Gandhi’s interaction at the Mahila Samvad shows that women’s issues are now at the centre of Bihar politics. Her promises and sharp words against the government make it clear that women voters will play a big role in deciding the result of the coming elections.
