New Delhi | Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from April 22 to 23, 2025. He is going there at the invitation of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. This will be Prime Minister Modi’s third visit to the Kingdom, after his earlier visits in 2016 and 2019.
This visit comes after the State Visit of Prince Mohammed bin Salman to India in September 2023, when he attended the G20 Summit in New Delhi. During that visit, he also co-chaired the first meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council.
India and Saudi Arabia have always shared close and friendly relations. Their strong ties are based on a long history of cultural and trade connections. Today, both countries are strategic partners, cooperating in many important areas like politics, defence, security, trade, investment, energy, technology, health, education and culture. There are also strong people-to-people ties between the two nations.
Over the past ten years, the relationship between India and Saudi Arabia has grown even stronger. There has been an increase in high-level visits, defence cooperation and investment plans. Both countries are working together more closely in many key areas.
The visit of Prime Minister Modi shows how important Saudi Arabia is to India. It will help to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. It will also give both leaders a chance to discuss regional and global matters of mutual interest.
