Abu Dhabi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates today. He was received at the airport by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and accorded a ceremonial welcome. PM Modi appreciated the warm hospitality extended by the UAE leadership.

PM Modi said that India and the UAE continue to work closely in important sectors such as energy, trade, investment, defence, infrastructure, shipping, supply chains and advanced technology. He stated that the friendship between both nations is very strong and both countries are committed towards building a better future for the world.

During the visit, PM Modi and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held extensive discussions to further strengthen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. PM Modi also reiterated India’s strong condemnation of the recent attacks on the UAE and appreciated the leadership, courage and wisdom shown by the UAE President during difficult times. He also expressed gratitude for the care and concern shown towards the Indian community living in the UAE.
The visit also witnessed the signing of several important agreements in key sectors including energy, defence, infrastructure and advanced technology. In a major development, the UAE announced investments worth USD 5 billion in India, which is expected to further strengthen economic cooperation between the two friendly nations.

Concluding his short but highly productive visit, PM Narendra Modi expressed confidence that the outcomes of the visit will further deepen India-UAE friendship and contribute towards growth, development and prosperity for both nations.
Prime Minister Modi thanked President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality extended to him and invited him to visit India at an early date.
