New Delhi | President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Dussehra celebrations at Madhav Das Park, Red Fort in Delhi on Saturday. The event was marked by the symbolic burning of effigies of the demon king Ravan, known as Ravan Dehan.

During the celebrations, both leaders participated in the traditional act of shooting an arrow from a bow to set the effigies ablaze. This act symbolizes the victory of good over evil, a central theme of Dussehra.

The event drew a large crowd, with thousands of people gathering at Madhav Das Park to witness the festivities. The presence of the Prime Minister and the President added to the excitement and significance of the celebration, making it a memorable occasion for all attendees.

In a message posted on social media platform X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his experience and appreciation for Delhi’s rich cultural heritage. He wrote, “Took part in the Vijaya Dashami programme in Delhi. Our capital is known for its wonderful Ramlila traditions. They are vibrant celebrations of faith, culture and traditions.”

The celebrations in Delhi, as described by PM Modi, reflect the city’s deep-rooted traditions and its role in keeping the spirit of Indian festivals alive.
