PM Narendra Modi Welcomes UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed in New Delhi, Holds Wide-Ranging Talks

New Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi today warmly received His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on his arrival at the airport in New Delhi during a very short visit. The visit once again reflected the strong, close and growing friendship between India and the UAE.

In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said that he personally went to the airport to welcome “my brother” Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Prime Minister said that the visit shows the importance the UAE President gives to the India–UAE partnership and expressed his eagerness for meaningful discussions during the visit.
Later, Prime Minister Modi hosted the UAE President at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. Describing the meeting as a special gesture, the Prime Minister said he was deeply touched by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit to Delhi in the evening. Both leaders held detailed discussions on a wide range of issues aimed at further strengthening the multifaceted relationship between the two countries.

Prime Minister Modi also welcomed several distinguished members of the UAE leadership who accompanied the President. These included His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan.

The Prime Minister noted that the presence of members of the UAE President’s family during the UAE’s Year of Family gives special significance to the visit. He said it reflects the deep bonds of trust, strong people-to-people ties and shared confidence in a bright future for the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held wide-ranging discussions on bilateral, regional and global issues. The talks focused on further strengthening cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, defence, technology and people-to-people relations. The meeting also reflected the close personal bond between the two leaders and highlighted the remarkable progress made in the India–UAE partnership in recent years.

In a statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs on X, it was said that the visit concluded successfully with significant outcomes. The visit further deepened the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UAE. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was seen off by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
