Addressing the public gathering and later interacting with the state and national media, Maulana Syed Arshad Madani expressed serious concern over the present condition of minorities in the country.
Maulana Madani said that the suffering of Muslims is not hidden from anyone. He alleged that houses are being demolished using bulldozers and that madrasas and mosques are being destroyed.
He further stated that the country is today caught in the grip of communal polarisation. He criticised the Congress party, saying that despite being in power for a long time in the past, it failed to effectively stop this growing trend, which has resulted in the situation becoming worse over time.
During his Bengaluru visit, Maulana Syed Arshad Madani interacted with the media and spoke openly on several important issues, including the discriminatory treatment faced by Muslims in the present times, civil rights, communalism and national politics.

Maulana Madani strongly stated that hatred cannot be answered with hatred, but only with love. He appealed to the people to promote love, tolerance and brotherhood in place of hatred, provocation and prejudice. He said that this path alone is best for the country’s future, national unity and the welfare of the people.
While speaking to the media, Maulana Madani also strongly criticised the Congress government. He said that even after coming to power in the state, the Congress has failed to fulfil many promises made to the people during elections.
Maulana Syed Arshad Madani said that the Congress party must fulfil its election promise of imposing a ban on the Bajrang Dal in Karnataka. He stated that since this assurance was given in the party’s election manifesto, it should be implemented without any delay.
Speaking about his relationship with the Congress party, Maulana Madani said that he has had long-standing ties with the party since his childhood. He mentioned that senior Congress leaders used to visit his home regularly. However, he clarified that despite this association, he has never taken any personal benefit from the Congress party.
Expressing deep concern over the rising communalism in the country, Maulana Madani said that the roots of communal politics have now become very deep. He added that the consequences of this growing divisive trend are being faced by the people of the entire country.

Reacting to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s statement referring to “Miya Musalmaan”, Maulana Syed Arshad Madani said that there is no shame in being called a “Miya Musalmaan”. He stated that a Miya Musalmaan lives by Islam and dies by Islam. He alleged that in Assam, communal forces are portraying Muslims as foreigners and creating doubts about their identity in the minds of the majority community. He said this has resulted in continuous communal tension at the social level in the state.
Maulana Madani said that whether it is the issue of changes in Panchayat certificates, fixing deadlines for citizenship, or alleged attempts to shut down madrasas in the state, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has always stood firmly with the oppressed. He added that the organisation has consistently fought such cases with full strength and has achieved success.
He further stated that Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind works not on the basis of religion alone, but on the principles of humanity.

The programme reaffirmed Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind’s commitment to democratic values, social justice and the welfare of all sections of society.
