Mansoor Ali Khan Files Rajya Sabha Nomination and Vows to Raise Karnataka’s Voice and Serve the Nation in Rajya Sabha

Bengaluru: The Congress party has officially announced its three candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Karnataka. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has been renominated by the party, while AICC Media and Publicity Department Chairman Pawan Khera and AICC Secretary Mansoor Ali Khan have been fielded as the other two candidates with the elections scheduled for June 18, 2026.
Yesterday, Mallikarjun Kharge filed his nomination papers at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru in the presence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several senior party leaders. Today, Pawan Khera and Mansoor Ali Khan also filed their nominations at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.
Mansoor Ali Khan, an educationist, former Congress candidate from Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency in 2024 and AICC Secretary in charge of Kerala and Lakshadweep, today filed his nomination in the presence of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC President B.K. Hariprasad and AICC General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain.

Expressing his gratitude to the Congress leadership, Mansoor Ali Khan thanked Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress leaders K.C. Venugopal, Randeep Singh Surjewala and also Karnataka Congress leaders for reposing faith in him. He said the nomination was a great responsibility and an opportunity to represent Karnataka and the nation in Parliament.
Mansoor Ali Khan said he would work to uphold the highest standards of parliamentary conduct and raise the voice of people who are often unheard. He also promised to represent the interests of Karnataka, Bengaluru and Bengaluru Central constituency with sincerity and commitment.
Speaking to the media after filing his nomination papers, Mansoor Ali Khan said, “This is a big responsibility, and I do not take it lightly. I am grateful to the Congress leadership for their trust and to the countless party workers, colleagues and citizens who have supported me. I will work hard to serve Karnataka and the nation.”
The filing of nominations by all three Congress candidates is being seen as a significant step ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, with the party expressing confidence in securing victory for its nominees from Karnataka.
