Bengaluru | Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed his unwavering confidence in the judicial process amidst a legal battle over allegations against him in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. Speaking to the media at Bangalore Chitrakala Parishad, the Chief Minister revealed that a writ application has been filed in the Karnataka High Court, challenging the Governor’s decision to permit prosecution against him. Siddaramaiah emphasized that he has full faith in the court to grant him justice and compensation.

Noted lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi will be representing Siddaramaiah in this legal matter. The Chief Minister firmly stated that his conscience is clear, and he has committed no wrongdoing throughout his 40-year political career. He added that his political life has been transparent, with no blemishes, and that the people of Karnataka are well aware of his integrity.

Siddaramaiah accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at both the state and central levels, along with the Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS), of conspiring against him using the Raj Bhavan. He asserted that these parties have plotted to tarnish his reputation with malicious intent. Despite the challenges, Siddaramaiah vowed to fight this legal and political battle with even greater determination, believing that his support for the poor and the successful implementation of welfare schemes have made him a target of the opposition.

In a separate Facebook post, the Chief Minister further expressed his commitment to upholding the law and the Constitution. He noted that he had approached the Karnataka High Court to challenge what he termed as an “illegal and politically motivated” decision by the Governor to sanction an inquiry and prosecution based on false allegations. Siddaramaiah expressed his satisfaction with the interim orders passed by the High Court, which have deferred the proceedings and prevented any precipitative action till the next date of hearing.

Siddaramaiah concluded by stating his gratitude to the High Court and his continued confidence that the truth will ultimately prevail in this matter.
