Nine terrorist locations targeted in Pakistan and PoK; Leaders say justice has been delivered

New Delhi | 7 May 2025 – In a bold step taken during the early hours of Wednesday, the Indian Armed Forces launched a precision operation called ‘Operation Sindoor’. The operation targeted nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK). These camps were being used to plan and direct attacks against India.

This action comes in response to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali citizen lost their lives. The Indian government had promised to take strict action, and Operation Sindoor is seen as a strong reply.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Defence, the strikes were carefully planned, limited in nature and focused only on terrorist infrastructure. No Pakistani military sites were targeted, showing India’s restraint and responsibility in handling the situation.

Soon after the strikes, the Indian Army posted on X (formerly Twitter) through its official handle @adgpi, saying: “Justice is Served. Jai Hind!”

Reacting to the operation, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar posted on X: – “The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism.”- He made it clear that India’s fight is against terrorism, and such actions are necessary to keep the country safe.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also praised the Indian Army and said: – “Proud of our armed forces. #OperationSindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam. The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people.”

He added that India is fully committed to ending terrorism from its roots.
