India Islamic Cultural Centre President Salman Khurshid Holds Exclusive Session with Women Members to Strengthen Institutional Role

New Delhi : In a historic and first-of-its-kind initiative, the India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC) hosted an exclusive interaction between its President, Mr. Salman Khurshid, his Board Members, and the women members of the Centre on Saturday the 11th October at 4:00 PM in New Delhi at IICC.

The special session, led by President Salman Khurshid, aimed to give women members a direct platform to share their views, ideas and suggestions for the Centre’s future direction.

Announcing the initiative, Mr. Khurshid said that women’s voices must be central to the institution’s growth. “Women are best placed to tell us what must change and how we can do better. This engagement is not symbolic – it is a working session to listen, learn and translate ideas into action for a stronger IICC,” he said.

The interaction focused on four key areas:

* Increasing women’s participation in programme design and Centre governance;

* Collecting practical suggestions to improve member services, facilities and educational and cultural programmes;

* Creating leadership and mentorship opportunities for women within IICC; and

* Setting up a follow-up system to ensure that suggestions turn into concrete actions.

President Salman Khurshid added that this was a “clear statement of intent” and that women’s insights will directly guide the Centre’s upcoming priorities and timelines.

The event was conducted in person at the IICC premises, with online access provided for women members who could not attend physically.

After the session, women members expressed heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Salman Khurshid for this meaningful and progressive initiative. In a message shared with him, members said:

The event marks a new beginning in IICC’s journey toward inclusivity, transparency and women-led progress.
