New Delhi : The INDIA bloc had a crucial meeting at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi today to discuss various issues, including strategizing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024 to counter the BJP. This meeting took place against the backdrop of 141 MPs from different opposition parties being suspended, the highest in a single session, for protests and slogans related to the December 13 Lok Sabha security breach.

Addressing the media after the INDIA bloc meeting, AICC President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Today, the fourth meeting of the INDIA coalition was held. Leaders from 28 parties participated, expressing their thoughts on strengthening the coalition and addressing people’s interests. In the coming times, we have decided to conduct 8 to 10 meetings together to spread our message.”

He announced a nationwide protest on December 22 against the suspension of 141 MPs over the ruckus regarding the opposition’s demand for a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the Parliament security breach incident.

Kharge emphasized, “We passed a resolution condemning the undemocratic suspension. We must all fight to save democracy. We’ve long called for Amit Shah or PM Narendra Modi to address the Parliament on the security breach, but they refuse.”

Regarding seat-sharing issues, Kharge stated that local leaders would hold the first round of talks, and if differences persist, senior leaders would intervene. On the face of the Prime Minister for the INDIA alliance, he said, “First, we must win. Deciding the PM face comes later. What’s the point if we don’t have the MPs?”

Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain, Rajya Sabha member, speaking to Dr. B R Abdul Wajid, Editor in Chief of The Deccan Front after the INDIA bloc meeting at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi, Mr. Naseer Hussain mentioned that the opposition INDIA bloc would hold a nationwide protest on December 22 against the recent suspension of 141 members from Parliament. He emphasized the need for PM Modi or Home Minister Amit Shah to address the Parliament on the security breach issue.
