Mumbai | The Haj Committee of India has issued a circular dated 28 January 2026, announcing a new initiative to allow self-booking of flights by Haj pilgrims. This step has been introduced to improve convenience, transparency and efficiency in Haj arrangements.

According to the circular, Haj pilgrims can now book their flights online by themselves through the pilgrim login on the Haj Committee of India website and also through the Haj Suvidha App. This facility is optional and is meant only to accommodate the personal preferences of pilgrims, subject to seat availability and operational conditions.

The self-booking facility will be available for a limited period of four days, starting from 29 January 2026. Pilgrims who wish to choose their own flights must complete the booking within this window.

The Haj Committee has clearly stated that pilgrims who do not opt for self-booking, or those who miss the four-day period, will be allotted flights by the Haj Committee of India from the available options. In such cases, no preference regarding flight or travel date will be considered. The Committee has also clarified that no requests sent through email, letters or any offline mode will be accepted for flight preferences.

Pilgrims opting for self-booking are required to carefully read and strictly follow the Guidelines and Conditions mentioned in Annexure-I of the circular.

The Haj Committee of India has requested all State Haj Committees to give wide publicity to this new initiative and provide necessary guidance to pilgrims to ensure smooth implementation of the self-booking process.

The circular has been issued by Shanavas C, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Haj Committee of India.
