New Delhi | The application process for aspiring pilgrims who wish to perform Haj in 2025 has officially begun. Shri Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, launched the Haj 2025 application process. For the first time, pilgrims can now submit their applications not only through the Haj Committee of India’s website but also via the new Haj Suvidha App. This step aims to make the application process more convenient and accessible for everyone.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has allotted a quota of 1,75,025 seats for Indian pilgrims for Haj 2025. To support the pilgrims, the Haj Committee of India has also set up a helpline and is operating dedicated channels on social media. These resources are available to assist anyone who needs help with their application.

One of the biggest reforms carried out in Haj administration has been to allow Muslim women of the age of 45 years or above to perform Haj without Mehram (male companion) under the Ladies without Mehram (LWM) category. In 2024, a record number of 4,558 women performed Haj under this category, and the government is working to make Haj even more accessible for women in 2025.

Another important update is the new age requirement for pilgrims aged 65 years or above. It is now mandatory for them to be accompanied by a companion, with top priority given to those in this age group. This change, from the previous age requirement of 70 years, reflects the government’s concern for the well-being of its citizens, especially considering the challenging conditions of the pilgrimage.

Additionally, State Haj Inspectors, who are officials from the Central and State governments, (known as Khadim-ul-hujjaj till Haj-2024)  will be deputed at a higher ratio of 1:150 pilgrims, compared to the previous ratio of 1:300. This will ensure better support and guidance for pilgrims during their journey.

The Haj Application Form for Haj 2025 is now available, with the last date for submission set for 9th September 2024. Applications can be filled and submitted online through the Haj Committee of India’s website or the Haj Suvidha App.
