Jeddah | Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – In a significant development, the bilateral agreement for Haj-2025 was signed between India and Saudi Arabia on January 13, 2025, at Jeddah. The agreement was finalized during a meeting between Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, and H.E. Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah.
The agreement outlines the broad framework for the Haj pilgrimage and includes a finalized quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims from India for Haj-2025. Both leaders expressed their commitment to providing a safe, smooth and fulfilling pilgrimage experience for Indian Haj pilgrims.

Preparations for Haj-2025 Begin in Advance
Kiren Rijiju announced that preparations for Haj-2025 have begun in record advance time to ensure the comfort and convenience of the pilgrims. The Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Saudi authorities for their cooperation and support in this regard.
During his visit to the Jeddah Hajj Terminal, Kiren Rijiju reviewed the arrangements being made for the arrival of Indian pilgrims. He assured that all efforts are being undertaken to ensure a seamless and comfortable experience for the pilgrims.

Strengthening India-Saudi Ties Beyond Haj
Apart from Haj-related discussions, Kiren Rijiju also met H.E. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport & Logistic Services, in Riyadh. The two leaders held meaningful talks on enhancing collaboration in the transport and logistics sector, particularly to facilitate better services for the movement of Haj pilgrims.
Rijiju emphasized the importance of India-Saudi Arabia cooperation in various domains and reiterated India’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties.
