New Delhi | The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Bihar, 2025. The Commission finalised the dates after a detailed assessment of all relevant aspects such as major festivals, academic calendars, board examinations, law and order situation, and availability and deployment of Central Armed Police Forces.
The ECI has recommended to the Hon’ble Governor of Bihar to issue notifications for the elections under the Representation of the People Act, 1951. The Commission has urged all stakeholders to extend full cooperation for ensuring a lawful, peaceful, participative and festive election in the state.
Election Schedule
The elections will be held in two phases across all 243 Assembly constituencies of Bihar.
For Phase 1 (121 Seats) and for Phase 2 (122 Seats)
Date of Poll : Phase 1 is on 06 November 2025 (Thursday) and Phase 2 is on 11 November 2025 (Tuesday) and Counting of Votes will be on 14 November 2025 (Friday).
Date of Issue of Gazette Notification | 10 October 2025 (Friday) for Phase 1 and 13 October 2025 (Monday) for Phase 2.
Last Date for making Nominations | 17 October 2025 (Friday) for Phase 1 and 20 October 2025 (Monday) for Phase 2.
Date for the Scrutiny of Nominations | 18 October 2025 (Saturday) for Phase 1 and 21 October 2025 (Tuesday) for Phase 2.
Last date for the Withdrawal of Candidatures 20 October 2025 (Monday) for Phase 1 and 23 October 2025 (Thursday) for Phase 2.
Date before which election shall be completed | 16 November 2025 (Sunday).
