Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain Calls for Urgent Rajya Sabha Discussion on Shahi Jama Masjid Violence

New Delhi | Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain, Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, has submitted a notice under Rule 267 for the suspension of business on 25th November 2024. In his notice to the Hon’ble Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Dr. Hussain has requested to suspend the Zero Hour and relevant rules related to Question Hour and other scheduled business to discuss the recent violent incident at the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. Hussain highlighted the grave incident which resulted in the tragic deaths of three youths and left several others injured. He also pointed out the significant destruction of private property, emphasizing the failure of the state administration in maintaining law and order.
He expressed serious concerns over the escalation of communal tensions under the pretext of legal processes. Dr. Hussain suggested that these events might be part of a larger effort to disrupt social harmony in the region. He stressed the need for accountability for the use of excessive force, which led to the loss of innocent lives.

Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain also raised allegations against the BJP-led state government, accusing it of fostering fear and division to divert attention from pressing national issues. He called for an immediate scrutiny of these actions.
In his motion, Dr. Hussain urged the Rajya Sabha to discuss the broader implications of such incidents on the social fabric of the nation. He emphasized the need to deliberate on steps required to uphold communal harmony, justice and the rule of law.
The notice signifies the urgency and importance of addressing these issues at a national level to ensure peace and stability in the country.
