Dr. K. Ramesh Kamath Brings New Konkani Film ANTHYARAMBHA to Life at Age 72

Bengaluru | Dr. K. Ramesh Kamath, a distinguished graduate from the Poona Film Institute (FTII) and recipient of the Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy Award, is set to release his latest Konkani film titled ANTHYARAMBHA at the remarkable age of 72. The film produced by Kiranmayi Kamath and directed by Dr. Ramesh Kamath, was entirely shot in Mercara and has now completed its editing and re-recording phases. It is ready to be submitted for censorship.
According to Dr. K Ramesh Kamath, In the realm of Saraswath Konkani language cinema, only eight films have been produced so far. Dr. Kamath has significantly contributed to this niche with three films under his belt, and ANTHYARAMBHA marks his fourth directorial venture.

The film presents a philosophical narrative where an elderly man recounts his life journey in a captivating manner, ultimately conveying the message that every end in life’s journey heralds a new beginning. With a runtime of 90 minutes, the film was impressively completed within a record time of 40 days.
The leading cast includes Dr. Ramesh Kamath portraying the old man, Damodhar Nayak as the hero and Prathiksha Kamath as the heroine. The supporting cast features Vitobha Bhandarkar, Stany Alveres, Uday Jadugar, Sheela Nayak, Vasudha Prabhu, Ananth Nayak Sagri, Narasimha Nayak, Master Aadithya Kamath, Master Yatharth Shenoy, Sandeep Malani, Prakash Kini, Umesh Shenoy, Krishna Nayak, Anand Nagarkar, Vinutha Kiran, Govindraya Shanbhag, Vanchira Jaya Nanjappa, Dr. Radhakrishna Nayak, Sathyanarayan Nayak, and others.

The technical crew boasts PVR Swamy as the cameraman, Nagesh Narayan as the editor, Abhiyogi in DI, with music by Srisuresh and vocals by Shankar Shanbhougue. Sha Mam Krishna Rao has penned the dialogues, while Dr. Kamath himself has handled the story, screenplay, song lyrics and direction.
Dr. Kamath aims to release ANTHYARAMBHA globally in the first week of November 2024. This film is expected to be a notable addition to the Saraswath Konkani cinema and is poised to encourage the preservation and promotion of this minority language.
