New Delhi | Winter Session of Parliament | Union Home Minister Amit Shah strongly criticised the Congress Party while speaking during the Parliament’s Winter Session. He said that the main reason for Congress losing elections again and again is its weak leadership, not the voter list or the EVMs.
Amit Shah said that Congress always tries to blame mistakes in the voters’ list for every election defeat. He added that even if there are some small errors in the voter list, the process of detailed revision is meant to correct them. But the Congress’s Booth Level Agents (BLAs) do not cooperate during this process and some Congress-ruled states also do not give proper support. “If you don’t take part in the revision process, how will the voter list get corrected?” he asked.
He further said that the Election Commission is already doing exactly what Congress is demanding – ensuring a proper and accurate voter list. But instead of appreciating this, Congress leaders blame everyone around them.
Amit Shah also criticised the Congress for its behaviour towards the media. He said that whenever journalists ask tough questions, Congress leaders accuse them of being “BJP agents”. “A journalist is never a BJP agent. In a democracy, the media has the right to ask any question. This is not an emergency,” Amit Shah said.
He added that Congress blames judges when they lose cases in court, blames EVMs when they lose elections and now raises allegations of ‘vote theft’. “They even took out a yatra across Bihar on this issue, but still they lost,” he said.
Amit Shah concluded by saying, “The real reason for Congress losing so many elections is its leadership. One day, their own party workers will ask them why they keep losing so many elections.”

With these sharp remarks, Amit Shah made it clear that the Congress Party must look within, instead of blaming external factors for its repeated defeats. He said that only honest introspection and strong leadership can help any party win the trust of the people. His comments created a strong buzz in the House, marking a heated moment in the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament.
