New Delhi : In a press briefing at the AICC Headquarters today, Congress leaders Shri Jairam Ramesh and Shri K C Venugopal addressed the media, sharing details of the upcoming BHARAT NYAY YATRA. Shri K C Venugopal stated that the Congress Working Committee, on December 21st 2023, unanimously recommended Congress leader Shri Rahul Gandhi embark on a yatra from East to West, a proposal Rahul Gandhi readily accepted.

As a result, the All India Congress Committee has finalized plans for the BHARAT NYAY YATRA, scheduled to take place from 14th January 2024, to 20th March 2024, stretching from Manipur to Mumbai. This initiative follows Shri Rahul Gandhi’s previous BHARAT JODO YATRA, covering 4500 kms from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, which was hailed as a historic event in Indian political history.

The BHARAT NYAY YATRA, spanning 6200 kms, will traverse 14 states and 85 districts, including Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orrisa, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. While primarily a bus yatra, there will be intermittent stretches of walking or padayatra.

AICC President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge is set to flag off the yatra on 14th January 2024, from Imphal.

Emphasizing the non-political nature of the yatra, K C Venugopal stated that it is intended to foster love and affection, focusing on the issues faced by common people across the country. Shri Rahul Gandhi will actively engage with individuals undergoing various challenges during the yatra.

The BHARAT NYAY YATRA is anticipated to be a historic and impactful journey, interacting with the youth, women, and marginalized communities, addressing their concerns and becoming a significant chapter in the nation’s history.

Congress leader Shri Jairam Ramesh stated, “During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Shri Rahul Gandhi raised three issues: economic inequality, social polarization, and political dictatorship. However, the focus of the Bharat Nyay Yatra is on economic justice, social justice, and political justice.”
