Speaking to the media after the breakfast meeting at his residence, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that he and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar have jointly decided to follow the guidance and decisions of the Congress high command. Addressing the media, the Chief Minister clarified that there are no differences between the two leaders and no minister or legislator is working against the government.
Siddaramaiah said that since the Assembly session is about to begin, the high command had asked both leaders to end unnecessary confusion. “Even now there is no confusion, and there will be none in the future. We will inform the high command about the understanding we have reached,” he said.
He added that some media outlets had created confusion by giving wrong interpretations. “Some legislators may have gone to Delhi regarding the cabinet reshuffle. It should not be misunderstood. A few MLAs themselves have told me that their visit was only for that purpose,” he explained.
The Chief Minister said the meeting between him and D.K. Shivakumar happened on the instructions of the party leadership. “We had breakfast together at my home. In recent days, unnecessary confusion has been created. We discussed this matter and also spoke about the upcoming 2028 Assembly Elections,” he said.
Siddaramaiah stressed that the 2028 elections and the coming local body elections—corporation, taluk, district and gram panchayat—are very important for the Congress. “Just like we both worked together in the 2023 Assembly Elections, we will move forward in the same united manner,” he said.
Replying to questions about internal issues, he said, “There are no differences between us. There are none now, and there will be none in the future.” He added that the government is ready for the winter session in Belagavi from December 8 and is fully prepared to respond to the Opposition’s attacks.
Siddaramaiah said that the BJP and JD(S) are spreading misinformation and making baseless allegations. “Their statements about bringing a no-confidence motion are only political noise. We have 142 MLAs. BJP has 64 and JD(S) has 18. Together they have only 82. So, their attempt will fail,” he said.
The Chief Minister concluded that the Congress government will strongly counter all false accusations. “Whatever the Opposition says, we are ready to answer. Myself and the Deputy Chief Minister will jointly tackle BJP and JD(S) inside and outside the Assembly,” he said.

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, while addressing the media, said, “Today myself and our Hon’ble CM had breakfast together. I hope he will come to my house for lunch or dinner in the coming days. In our Congress party, we all work together. Our party workers and the people of Karnataka have given us a massive mandate.”
DK Shivakumar said the government is committed to fulfilling every promise made to the people.
“We have delivered the guarantees. With the cooperation of everyone, we are giving a government with good governance and will continue to do so,” Shivakumar said.
He added that both leaders discussed the strategy for the 2028 Assembly Elections and ways to counter the Opposition.
“The Opposition may try to create issues, but we are ready to respond. On leadership matters too, we follow the directions of the party high command. We are loyal workers of the Congress. Karnataka will play a major role in 2028 and also in the 2029 Parliamentary Elections,” DK Shivakumar said.
D.K. Shivakumar said the Congress is confident that under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, the party will return to power in 2029.
When asked whether he would go to Delhi, Shivakumar said, “If the party calls us, definitely we will go. There are many important issues related to Karnataka’s development which our MPs must raise in the upcoming Parliament session. Sadly, they have not supported us on matters like sugarcane and maize issues. The Central Government must support Karnataka, and we will continue to demand it.”
