New Delhi | In view of the evolving situation in the Middle East and its possible impact on international air operations, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, chaired a comprehensive review meeting with all concerned stakeholders to assess preparedness and response measures.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, the Minister said the meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the Airports Authority of India, along with representatives of airlines and airport operators.
He said that the safety of passengers and crew members remains the government’s top priority. Indian carriers have been advised to continuously monitor airspace advisories and NOTAMs and take timely decisions regarding rerouting or diversion of flights wherever necessary, strictly following global safety protocols.

The Minister also stated that major airports across the country have been placed on operational alert to handle any potential diversions and ensure smooth facilitation for passengers. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is maintaining close coordination with airlines to ensure full compliance with safety and operational regulations.
He further said that the government is also in close contact with the Ministry of External Affairs to address any emerging requirements related to Indian carriers or Indian nationals abroad. He assured that the situation is being closely monitored and that the government remains committed to ensuring safe, orderly and efficient air operations.

Meanwhile, Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, along with other senior officials, visited the 24×7 Passenger Assistance Control Room to review preparedness in view of the evolving airspace restrictions over Iran and parts of the Middle East. During the visit, the Secretary instructed officials to ensure that passengers receive timely information and proper assistance, and emphasized the importance of real-time coordination among all concerned agencies.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation stated that it is closely monitoring the situation to ensure that air operations remain safe, orderly and efficient.

The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has issued an advisory to Indian nationals living in the United Arab Emirates. The Embassy has advised Indian citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, remain cautious and vigilant, and follow safety guidelines and advisories issued by the UAE authorities and the Embassy from time to time.
