AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge Visits Ahmedabad Plane Crash Site, Meets Victims at Civil Hospital

Ahmedabad | June 14, 2025 | AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge visited the tragic Air India plane crash site in Ahmedabad and also met with the injured victims at the Civil Hospital. The crash of Air India Flight AI 171 has shaken the entire country, and several lives have been lost, including young medical students.
Mr. Kharge inspected the crash site and spoke to officials to understand the current situation. He was accompanied by several senior Congress leaders, including AICC General Secretary and Gujarat incharge Mukul Wasnik, Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain (MP & CWC Member), Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar, AICC Media & Publicity Chairman Pawan Khera, Gujarat Pradesh Congress President Shaktisinh Gohil and other leaders.

In a heartfelt post on social media platform X, Mr. Kharge said:
> “Today we met the medical students injured in the Air India plane crash tragedy at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad and wished them a speedy recovery. The entire country stands with you in this difficult time.”
In another post, he expressed deep grief:
> “Visited the crash site of the devastating airplane tragedy which has shaken the nation. My deepest condolences and thoughts are with the families of the victims, crew, pilot and people on the ground who have lost their lives, including medical students. It is an unimaginable tragedy. The country is mourning and our prayers are with the bereaved.”

Addressing the media in Ahmedabad, Mr. Kharge said with emotion:
“It is a very big accident that can never be forgotten. Many people, including medical college students, have lost their lives. I pay my tribute to them. Some injured students are still being treated and we have spoken with the doctors to ensure they recover soon. One person was miraculously saved in the crash. We pray for his health too. I request our party workers to continue helping people in every way possible — whether it is arranging for medicines or anything else.”

Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain also expressed his sorrow in a message:
“Visited the tragic Air India crash site in Ahmedabad today, accompanied by AICC President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji and Karnataka Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar. Heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones — passengers, innocent civilians, and young medical students. This devastating incident has shaken the nation. We share in the grief of all those affected and stand united in this hour of sorrow.”

Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka D.K. Shivakumar shared his message on X:
> “Today, along with AICC President Shri @kharge, we visited the injured at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital following the tragic Air India plane crash near the Medical Students’ Hostel.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this devastating incident. We met with the survivors and their families to offer our heartfelt support. We commend medical teams, emergency responders and everyone for their timeless efforts during such a critical time.”
D. K. Shivakumar also said that :
> “Heartbreaking scenes. Visited the site of the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad along with AICC President Shri @kharge avaru. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of all the victims – onboard the plane, innocent people on the ground, including young medical students. This is an unimaginable loss.
