New Delhi | The protest by Opposition MPs against alleged vote theft, described by the Congress as “Vote Chori”, continued for the third day in New Delhi. Members of the INDIA alliance staged a peaceful sit-in at Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, paid homage to Bapu and prayed for the Modi government to be blessed with wisdom and sound judgment.

During the protest, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that all INDIA alliance MPs had gathered at the Gandhi Memorial to hold a peaceful sit-in. He said they wanted to send a message to the country that the BJP government was allegedly taking away people’s right to vote.

Kharge said that the freedom secured by great leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel should not be taken away. He added that the MPs were praying for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to be blessed with wisdom.
