The INDIA alliance leaders announced a six-point programme as part of their campaign to “Save Democracy”.

As part of the programme, district-level “Save Democracy” marches will be held from October 2 to October 8. On October 6, opposition party MPs will march to the Election Commission.

Opposition leaders will also seek an appointment with the President of India in the second week of October. The INDIA alliance will organise five major rallies as part of its programme.

A major rally will be held in Delhi on November 1, where alliance leaders will raise issues related to “vote theft”.

The INDIA alliance has also appealed for an early resolution of all cases related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and electoral matters pending before the Supreme Court.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that all the leaders present at the meeting openly expressed their views. He added that leaders who could not attend the meeting also shared their suggestions through online means.

Kharge said that all the leaders of the INDIA alliance were united and ready to fight the battle for democracy with full strength.

Kharge alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were making the Election Commission work like a “puppet”. He further alleged that elections were being won by “stealing votes” and said that people who raised their voice against this were being harassed.

“We will raise our voice strongly against this,” Kharge said.
