Dr. Aslam Gurukkal Extends Wishes to B. S. Yediyurappa on 50 Years of Political Journey

New Delhi | Former National Vice President of BJP Minority Morcha, Dr. Aslam Gurukkal, in his message, extended his heartfelt wishes to veteran BJP leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa on completing 50 years of remarkable public service and political life.

In his message, Dr. Aslam Gurukkal said, “Heartiest wishes to respected B. S. Yediyurappa Ji on completing 50 years of remarkable public service. Wishing you good health and many more years of inspiring leadership.”

A grand celebration titled “BSY Abhimanotsava” is being organised today the May 9, 2026, at Chitradurga to honour the five-decade-long political and public service journey of B.S. Yediyurappa. The event is expected to witness the participation of BJP leaders, party workers, supporters, and admirers from across Karnataka.

B.S. Yediyurappa began his political journey in 1972 after being elected to the Shikaripura Town Municipality. He later played an active role in the Jana Sangh and was also imprisoned during the Emergency period. Over the years, he emerged as one of Karnataka’s most influential political leaders.

Widely known as “Raithara Bandhu” (Farmer’s Friend), Yediyurappa earned appreciation for his efforts towards the welfare of farmers, including the introduction of a separate agriculture budget in the state. He was also instrumental in strengthening the BJP in Karnataka and became the first BJP Chief Minister in South India.

During his long political career, B.S. Yediyurappa served as the Chief Minister of Karnataka four times and continues to hold a strong influence in the state’s political landscape.

The “BSY Abhimanotsava” celebration is being seen not only as a political event but also as a recognition of his dedication, leadership and contribution to the development and politics of Karnataka over the last five decades.
