Barrackpore | West Bengal.  As the election campaign for the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections ended today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Barrackpore, West Bengal. The second phase of polling is scheduled to be held on April 29.

While addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister strongly criticised the ruling party and said that the people of West Bengal want security, opportunities and honest governance, which the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has failed to deliver. He also said that West Bengal has always been a source of spiritual energy and plays a key role in the development of the country.

PM Modi highlighted the importance of eastern India’s growth, stating that India’s progress is incomplete without the development of the eastern region. He added that “Bhagyodaya” and “Purvodaya” are complementary forces that strengthen each other. He also criticised TMC leaders for not mentioning their earlier slogan “Maa, Mati, Manush” during this election campaign, saying they have forgotten the promises made to the people.

Talking about development, the Prime Minister said that the region around Kolkata will become a major hub under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. He assured that if BJP comes to power in the state, a concrete revival plan will be introduced for mills and factories. He also promised that after the election results on May 4, five major employment-related initiatives will be implemented quickly in West Bengal.

He further said that the government is committed to ensuring justice and empowerment for women, referring to “Nari Shakti.” Urging voters to support BJP, PM Modi said that people have already given many years to Congress, Left and TMC, and now they should give BJP one opportunity to bring change in the state.

Earlier, while addressing a public gathering in Dum Dum, the Prime Minister said that the record voting in the first phase of the elections has made the ruling TMC nervous. In a post on X, he shared a video of a roadshow in Kolkata and said that the mood in the city clearly shows that people want change and are supporting BJP.
