PM Narendra Modi Chairs Meeting with Chief Minister’s to Review Preparedness Amid West Asia Crisis

New Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an important meeting with Chief Ministers of various States to review the country’s preparedness in view of the emerging crisis in West Asia.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that by working together as “Team India,” the country will be able to successfully handle the situation. He stressed that the government’s main priorities are to maintain economic and trade stability, ensure energy security, protect the interests of citizens and strengthen industry and supply chains.

The Prime Minister urged all States to ensure smooth functioning of supply chains and to take strict action against hoarding and profiteering. He also highlighted the need for advance planning in the agriculture sector, especially in monitoring fertiliser storage and proper distribution.

Prime Minister emphasised the importance of strong coordination between the Centre and States for quick and effective response to the evolving situation. Special attention was also advised for border and coastal States to deal with challenges related to shipping, essential supplies and maritime operations.

The Prime Minister cautioned against the spread of misinformation and rumours and stressed the need to share only accurate and reliable information with the public.

Chief Ministers appreciated the steps taken by the Central Government under the leadership of the Prime Minister to manage the situation. They welcomed the decision to reduce excise duty on fuel and to increase the allocation of commercial LPG to States during global uncertainties.

The Chief Ministers also expressed confidence that the situation in their respective States remains stable, with adequate availability of petrol, diesel and LPG. They reaffirmed their commitment to work closely with the Central Government to effectively handle the situation.

During the meeting, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted that the government has been actively working under the Prime Minister’s leadership to tackle the crisis. He mentioned key steps such as ensuring timely supply of LPG and reduction in fuel excise duties and stressed the need for collective efforts by all States, Union Territories and the Centre.

The meeting highlighted a united and proactive approach by the Centre and States under the leadership of Narendra Modi to effectively manage the challenges arising from the West Asia crisis. With strong coordination, timely decisions and a focus on public welfare, the government aims to ensure stability, safeguard essential supplies and protect the interests of citizens across the country.
