New Delhi | Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, held an important review meeting on March 19, 2026, to check the preparations for Haj 2026. The meeting focused on ensuring smooth arrangements and better facilities for Indian pilgrims.
During the meeting, key issues such as visa issuance, flight arrangements, deployment of Haj Suvidha Smart Watches, and medical facilities were discussed in detail. The discussions were held with the Consul General of India (CGI), Jeddah, and the CEO of the Haj Committee of India (HCoI).
The officials reviewed the readiness of all systems to make the Haj journey comfortable and safe for pilgrims. Special attention was given to the use of technology like smart watches to support pilgrims during their travel.

Dr. Kumar also advised the Consul General of India in Jeddah to ensure proper nutrition and timely arrangements for all pilgrims. He stressed the need for coordination among all agencies to ensure the successful and smooth conduct of Haj 2026.
The government is taking all necessary steps to provide better services and facilities to Indian pilgrims and to make their Haj journey safe, comfortable and well-organized.
