PM Narendra Modi Extends Greetings on Uttarayan, Makar Sankranti, Magh Bihu and Pongal

New Delhi | Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today extended his warm greetings to the people of India on the occasion of Uttarayan, Makar Sankranti and Magh Bihu. In separate posts on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wished happiness and prosperity to all citizens.

Wishing people on Makar Sankranti, PM Modi said the festival reflects the richness of Indian culture and traditions. He stated that the festival symbolises harmony, prosperity and the spirit of togetherness. The Prime Minister expressed hope that the sweetness of ‘til and gur’ will bring joy, success and positivity into everyone’s lives.

Invoking the blessings of Surya Dev, the Prime Minister prayed for the welfare, progress and well-being of the nation. He also shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam, highlighting the spiritual importance of the festival and its deep cultural roots.

Extending greetings on Pongal, PM Narendra Modi said that the festival celebrates the vibrant Tamil culture and the strong bond between humanity and nature. He wished that Pongal would bring prosperity, happiness and good health to everyone.

In another message, the Prime Minister spoke about the Pongal celebrations held at the residence of Union Minister Dr. L. Murugan in New Delhi. He said the celebration reflected the warmth, joy and cultural vibrancy of the festival and hoped it would add happiness to everyone’s life.

The Pongal celebration was attended by several Union Ministers and dignitaries, including Shri G Kishan Reddy, Shri K Rammohan Naidu, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Shri V Somanna and Smt. Tamilisai Soundararajan were present among other dignitaries at the event.
