Bengaluru – At the Vote Adhikar Rally in Bengaluru, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Shri Rahul Gandhi, accused the BJP and Election Commission (EC) of colluding to steal votes in the recent elections. He said the Constitution, which guarantees “one person, one vote”, has been attacked by weakening democratic institutions. Rahul Gandhi alleged that in Karnataka’s Mahadevapura Assembly segment of Bangalore Central Lok Sabha seat, over 1 lakh votes were stolen through duplicate entries, fake addresses, bulk voters, invalid photos, and misuse of Form 6.

Rahul Gandhi claimed this was part of a larger pattern across the country, pointing to similar suspicious voter additions in Maharashtra Assembly polls. He demanded that the EC release the digital voter list and complete videography of polling stations, saying his team had verified the Mahadevapura data over six months and found clear evidence of electoral fraud. He warned that BJP’s victory margins in 25 Lok Sabha seats were under 35,000 votes and could have been affected by such manipulation.

Congress Demands National Probe and Voter Data Release

Calling the alleged vote theft a “crime against the people”, Rahul Gandhi said the Karnataka government should investigate the Mahadevapura case and take action against officials involved. He accused the EC of hiding evidence by closing its website in several states and reducing the CCTV footage retention period to 45 days. Rahul Gandhi declared that Congress will defend the Constitution at any cost, and urged citizens to question why the EC is refusing to share machine-readable voter lists. He asserted, “If you attack the Constitution, we will attack you – because the Constitution is the voice of India.”
