New Delhi : Leader of Opposition and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently met representatives of the Vishwakarma Samaj from across the country in New Delhi.

In a social media post, Rahul Gandhi shared that people from Vishwakarma Samaj came from every corner of India and openly discussed their problems. They spoke about the lack of proper representation, the loss of their traditional livelihoods, humiliation and exclusion from mainstream society.

Rahul Gandhi said that these issues reflect the deep injustice faced by a large section of the Indian population. He highlighted that true empowerment of such communities cannot happen only by giving representation, but by ensuring that their voice becomes a strong force within the power structure of the country.

To achieve this, Rahul Gandhi once again stressed the urgent need for a nationwide caste census. He said that only through a caste-based survey can the true picture of our society be known, which will help in forming better policies for fair representation, equal participation, and social justice.

The Congress leader assured the Vishwakarma Samaj representatives that the Congress Party stands with them in this struggle. He informed them that the Congress has already started giving representation to such communities at the district level in states like Gujarat and will expand this to other states as well.

Rahul Gandhi added that real change will happen when strong and capable leaders emerge from such communities with the support of their people.

With the Congress party strongly supporting the caste census and promising fair representation, this move is seen as a big step towards social justice, equality and empowerment for all sections of society.
