New Delhi | In a press conference held today at the AICC Headquarters in New Delhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the ongoing issues surrounding the NEET examinations. He highlighted the persistent problem of paper leaks, which he said are widespread across the country.
Rahul Gandhi recounted his experiences from the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, stating, “Throughout the route, students were telling me that paper leaks are going on in India. They study hard, honest students suffer and those who cheat benefit. This was repeated again and again.”
Drawing a parallel to the Vyapam scam, he pointed out that BJP-ruled states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have faced similar issues. He alleged that this problem has now spread nationwide, causing significant harm to students.
He criticized the appointment of vice chancellors, claiming they are selected based on their affiliations rather than merit. According to Gandhi, this infiltration by the BJP and its parent organization has undermined the integrity of the education system. He likened the situation to the economic impact of demonetization, asserting that the BJP has similarly disrupted the education sector.

Rahul also said that “Prime Minister stopped Ukraine-Russia war but he is unable to stop exam paper leaks.”
Addressing the youth directly, he said, “The reason you are suffering is because an independent, objective education system has been demolished and replaced by one captured by the BJP. Until this capture is released, you will continue to face exam cancellations and repeated paper leaks.”
Gandhi emphasized the need for consistency and fairness in handling such issues, urging that the same rules should apply to all examinations. He called for the punishment of those responsible for the leaks to ensure justice for the affected students.
