New Delhi | The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has raised serious concerns regarding the conduct and results of the NEET-UG 2024 examination. K.C. Venugopal, General Secretary of the AICC and Lok Sabha MP-elect from Kerala”s Alappuzha constituency, has issued a letter highlighting the widespread allegations of irregularities and malpractices associated with the exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Allegations of Inflated Marks and Paper Leaks

The results of NEET-UG 2024, released on June 4th, have been marred by numerous complaints of inflated marks and irregularities. There have been reports of paper leaks and the awarding of grace marks without transparency in the methodology. These issues have significantly raised doubts about the integrity of the examination process.

Technical Glitches and Organized Corruption

The examination has faced technical glitches and instances of malpractice and unfair means at certain test centers. Arrests in states like Bihar, Gujarat and Haryana have revealed a pattern of organized corruption, particularly in states governed by the BJP. These findings have further undermined the credibility of the examination.

Supreme Court’s Stance and Congress Party’s Manifesto

The Hon’ble Supreme Court has taken the allegations seriously and called for zero tolerance towards negligence in the conduct of examinations. The Congress party, in its manifesto, had committed to enforcing strict laws against paper leaks to secure the future of students. The current situation has prompted the party to take immediate action to uphold this commitment.

Nationwide Protests on June 21st

In response to the irregularities and the perceived inaction of the NDA Government, the Congress party has called for massive protests across all state headquarters. The protests are scheduled for Friday, June 21st 2024, demanding justice for the students. All Pradesh Congress Committees (PCCs) are requested to participate, involving senior leaders and party functionaries to demand justice for the affected students.

Call for Detailed Reports

The letter from K.C. Venugopal also instructs PCCs to send detailed reports on the protest activities to the AICC. These reports should be emailed to org@inc.in and kcvoffice@gmail.com.

This move by the Congress party aims to bring attention to the alleged malpractices and ensure a fair examination process for all students.
