New Delhi | The Congress party has unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, with a strong emphasis on the theme of justice. Top party leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal and P Chidambaram among others were present during the release of the keenly-awaited document. During Manifesto Release today at AICC Headquarters, Shri P Chidambaram, Chairman of the Manifesto Committee, stated that the document has been approved by the Congress Working Committee and the Congress President.

Chidambaram highlighted the party’s concerns, stating, “Every aspect of justice has been threatened, weakened, diminished, and in some cases, denied in the last ten years.” He expressed regret that their predictions made in 2019 had come to fruition in 2024.

The manifesto, Chidambaram emphasized, aims to address the damage done to the country over the past decade through bold measures. He critiqued the current government, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that while the Congress offers concrete guarantees, Modi’s promises are merely empty assurances.

Chidambaram questioned the fate of promises made by the incumbent government, such as the pledge of creating 2 crore jobs, depositing ₹15 lakh in every Indian’s account, doubling farmers’ income etc.,  He accused Modi of focusing solely on securing another term rather than fulfilling his commitments to the people.

In summary, the Congress manifesto underscores the party’s commitment to restoring justice and addressing the challenges faced by the country, contrasting their approach with what they perceive as hollow assurances from the ruling party.

Rahul Gandhi Accuses Narendra Modi of Financial Monopoly and Attacks on Democracy

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of establishing a financial monopoly by capturing organizations like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Gandhi’s remarks came during the release of Manifesto, where he highlighted concerns about electoral bonds.

Gandhi asserted that crucial information regarding electoral bonds has been revealed, including details about who raised them, who secured the contracts, and the amount of money paid after the contracts. He suggested that Modi’s government is apprehensive due to the exposure of this information, leading them to resort to tactics to secure a large number of seats in the upcoming elections.

According to Gandhi, the Modi-led government is fearful of not crossing the 180-seat mark, hence their efforts to accumulate over 400 seats. He framed the upcoming election as a battle to safeguard democracy and the constitution.

Rahul positioned the election as a showdown between forces attacking democracy and those defending it. He labeled the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Modi, as assailants on democracy and the constitution, contrasting them with the “INDIA coalition,” which he claimed is dedicated to protecting these foundational principles.

In summary, Rahul Gandhi’s statements underscore concerns about financial monopolies, the revelation of electoral bond details, and the overarching narrative of the election being a clash between opposing forces regarding the preservation of democracy and the constitution.
