29th All India Muslim Personal Law Board Meeting in Bengaluru to Address Key Issues Including Waqf Amendment Bill 2024

Bengaluru | In a press conference earlier which was held in Bengaluru, Hazrath Maulana Fazlurraheem Mujaddidi, General Secretary of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), announced the upcoming 29th annual meeting of the board. This significant event is scheduled to take place on November 23 and 24, 2024, at the Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad campus in Bengaluru.

Maulana Fazlurraheem Mujaddidi stated that the meeting will commence on the morning of November 23 and continue until the afternoon of November 24. The event will feature various sessions, including a general body meeting and an executive body meeting. Additionally, there will be a public gathering on the evening of November 24 at the Quddus Sab Eidgah Ground in Bengaluru.

The primary agenda of the meeting includes multiple reports from different committees within the AIMPLB. A key focus will be the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024, which is currently under review by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). The AIMPLB has actively sought opinions from various stakeholders via email, resulting in a substantial response of over 36 million emails within 13 days. Maulana Mujaddidi emphasized that the board holds a complete record of these communications and is prepared to present them to the government or the Supreme Court if required.

All India Muslim Personal Law Board Alleges Waqf Amendment Bill Aims to Weaken Muslim Properties, Vows to Protect Community Interests

He expressed the board’s firm belief that the Waqf Amendment Bill is designed to weaken the effectiveness of Muslim waqf properties. The AIMPLB is determined to advocate for policies that protect the interests of the Muslim community and will guide the movement forward accordingly.

Maulana Mujaddidi urged the government to consider the board’s legitimate demands seriously, emphasizing that their approach is rooted in positive and constitutional principles. He called for the government to address the concerns raised without resorting to force or political influence, and to accept the just demands of the Muslim community.
